Are we the right fit as client and life coach? Some clients come to me and don’t exactly match my specialties. Schedule a consultation if you enjoyed my website and connected with it somehow. Then we can discuss your needs and see if I can help! Note that I only see women clients.

What do I need to do as a client to be successful? It’s all on you, babes. I can’t guarantee any changes will happen for you. I see growth in clients who attend sessions weekly, put in the work outside of sessions, and are willing to change their perspectives and ways of thinking. Hands down, the most challenging part of changing your life is putting in the work. It doesn’t happen overnight. It will be frustrating, but I’m sensing you are reading this because you are determined to invest in this process for the chance at something different and better for yourself.

Are you a certified life coach?Nope! I have a bachelor’s in psychology and social behavior and a master’s in clinical psychology, and I am a licensed marriage and family therapist in the state of CA. The education, mentorship, and direct client contact training requirements for these provided me with more than enough experience compared with the requirements of a top-level master life coach certification.

Life coaching vs. therapy?Life Coaching: Involves helping individuals to maximize their personal and professional potential. Coaches guide clients in developing skills and strategies to achieve specific goals within a set timeframe. Life coaches do not provide a diagnosis of mental health conditions or utilize a treatment plan and stick to creating goal-setting frameworks. Therapy: An abbreviation for psychotherapy, therapy is a clinical-based approach that provides mental health care and diagnosis to patients or clients. Therapists generally use diagnosis criteria to treat mental health disorders (a condition that affects someone’s mood, thinking, and behavior). Therapists assess for and provide treatment for conditions like depression, anxiety, PTSD, bipolar, schizophrenia, and more.

What types of clients do you see?I work with women in their 30s and 40s and specialize in stress management, self-esteem, life transitions, and chronic illness. My work is not limited to only the specialties listed. Feel free to reach out if you are looking to work on something else. I work with women who: Have the intention to learn, grow, and adopt new ways of thinking. Changing our thoughts and patterns, even minimally, can pay off big. Are open-minded, self-aware, and ready to look inward. Self-reflection is crucial to unlocking stuck points and helping you move forward. Can be accountable and honest with themselves and me. Sometimes, our thoughts, actions, and life don’t look pretty, but I’m not here to judge! Are excited to put in the extra work outside of sessions. Putting in the effort creates lasting change that you’ll want to celebrate. Have a sense of humor and want to have fun along the way. Life coaching does NOT have to be stuffy, boring, and methodical. Life Coaching may not be for you if you: Only want to do work in session. Growth and change require additional effort that exceeds what a weekly coaching session can provide. Want a quick fix. I wish there were an easy button to create the life you want! Unfortunately, it takes time. Know the investment in yourself pays out in kickass ways you might not expect. Just want to vent, get advice, or have someone to solve their problems. I can guide you through any difficulty, but I will challenge you to come to solutions on your own. Don’t like being vulnerable. Being vulnerable and looking at the things we don’t like about life and ourselves is the worst, but it delivers beautiful insights that make the discomfort well worth it. Are not open to hearing new perspectives or feedback. Sometimes, we get lost in thinking and acting in one way or another. I’m here to help you see the whole picture to create a better understanding of yourself. Want an on-call life coach. Coaching involves building the understanding and comfort in knowing you can do new and challenging things on your own between sessions.

Do you take insurance?I do not take insurance. Currently, insurance companies do not pay for or reimburse for life coaching. If you have an FSA (flexible spending account) through your employer, it may be possible to use those funds; contact your program administrator for clarification on requirements that may need to be met to use or show proof of use of funds within your account.

Do you speak to groups or offer classes?I do both! See my services page for additional information or reach out if you would like a more customized class or speaking topic.

How long will life coaching take? How wonderful would it be if life coaching only lasted a month or two?! Typically, coaching is a process that requires a good chunk of time if you want to see lasting results. Depending on what you are seeking coaching for, it can last anywhere from 6 months and onward. It’s normal for coaching to take time because, usually, my clients are building new ways of thinking, ways they interact with the world, and new behaviors. You didn’t learn those less-than-desirable patterns/ways of thinking overnight, so the same goes for building a better emotional and behavioral foundation for yourself. However, I am not a life coach who will keep you in coaching for no reason. We will discuss how coaching is going, what works and what doesn’t, and what you need to move forward. The goal is for me to send you on your way, having achieved the goals you set for yourself.
